Criadero El Carmen has a dedicated area to develop and evaluate the obtained lines by own crossings.
Activity is planned in function of agro economics requirements and especially of consumer market.
Annually groups of ten of new crossings are produced and more than 500 segregate lines are evaluated on its different generations.

Small pieces of ground are used to purity maintenance of each advanced line or variety.
There is applied with extreme (precise/pressure) selection plant by plant to keep variety purity and avoid any deviation in standard of the population.

These tests are produced in different locations, where the commercial varieties and advanced lines that showed outstanding, commercial and agronomics attributes are tested and compared.

Different tests and experimentations are produced where plague controllers, fertilizers are proved, new cultivation technologies between other variables that mean important contributions to productive sector in general.

It is a space in the ground totally contaminated by different pathologies where every materials are evaluated to prove resistance, tolerance or sensitive grade of peanut to diseases or more common plagues.

Many introduction of peanut with different attributes and origins conform the source of variety and genetic reserve of the CRIADERO.

Since 1999 started the collection of peanut Wild Arachis with many insertions and own collections on its origin places. Many evaluations are produced annually to discover resistance sources to diseases, bigger productivity and dryness resistance just to say some aspects.

Criadero El Carmen has its own field of seventy HECTAREAS in the center of peanut heart in Argentina, located in General Cabrera city, Córdoba province. Annually among one or one and a half HECTAREA are rotary assigned to basic researches.

Since 1999 it disposes a conservatory that allows realizing two multiplications by year accelerating and reducing improvement times.

Criadero El Carmen has scientific-technological cooperation agreements with different institutions, universities and scientists, with which different research projects are conducted.
